Overview

Singapore will be introducing mandatory climate-related reporting, in alignment with the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) standards in 2025. The initiative aims to strengthen environmental accountability and transparency in the corporate sector.

The Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA) and Singapore Exchange Regulation (SGX RegCo) have shared details of implementation. Listed companies will lead the way for reporting for FY2025, followed by large non-listed firms in FY2027.

Transition towards ISSB Standards from GRI and TCFD frameworks is a growing priority in 2025, making this workshop a timely opportunity to understand the current gaps to get ready for a smooth compliance reporting.

  1. Gain the requisite understanding of the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) S1 and S2 Disclosure requirements to meet SGX and ACRA’s requirements.
  2. Understand the critical role of financial and climate reporting and develop the skills to produce compliant and comprehensive disclosures.
  3. Learn the difference between Impact Materiality versus Financial Materiality Assessment for your organisation
  4. Align the Sector classification correctly and report on the required Material Topics under IFRS-S1 guideline

Trainer Profile:

Senthil Kumar has over 20 years of experience in the energy sector in Singapore in both Brown and Green energy projects. He was involved in Project Origination, Energy Risk Management, Power Purchase Agreements and Electricity Retailing operations. Senthil held senior position roles as General Manager, Chief Operating Officer and Board Director in his previous work experiences and advised large corporations and SMEs on incorporating sustainability reporting and follow through strategy to gain reputational and supply chain advantage over peers. He also helped to prepare SGX compliant Sustainability Reports for public listed companies for annual reporting requirements.

Senthil holds an undergraduate degree in Engineering from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Suffolk University in US. He also holds:

  • Global Reporting Institute (GRI) Certified ESG Professional.
  • ISO 14064 Carbon Accounting Lead Verifier- Issued by TUVSUD, Singapore
  • Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance (ACLP2.0) issued by SkillsFuture SG.
  • IFRS – Sustainability Research Group member- Membership of experts who contribute to improvement of the ISSB standards.
